We are not affiliated with Mago Point Marina. We are an independent mobile detailer that services boats kept there.
Mago Point sits at the mouth of the Niantic River on the Waterford side, opposite East Lyme. It is the town's boating hub, right by the inlet where the current runs hardest, with the state launch nearby and Jordan Cove and Keeny Cove providing sheltered water behind.
Charter and party boats operate out of the Waterford and Niantic area, so there is a working element to the traffic here alongside the recreational boats.
Boats kept right at the inlet sit in the strongest flow on the river. Currents through here can exceed five knots, which means constant movement against lines and fenders and a steady load of suspended material against the hull. Fender rub along the topsides is one of the more common things we correct on Mago Point boats.
There is also a higher share of trailered boats in Waterford than in most towns this far east, because the state launch is right there. Trailer boats are usually a better detail: no growth below the waterline and far better access to every hull surface than we get alongside a dock.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
