Long Island Sound, Hammonasset River, East River

Madison is about thirty-five minutes east of Milford and it is a genuinely different kind of shoreline town. There is no large commercial marina inside the town line. What Madison has instead is beach: Hammonasset Beach State Park runs two miles along the Sound and is the largest shoreline park in Connecticut.

That absence is exactly why a mobile detailer belongs here. Madison boats live on trailers behind houses, on private docks along the East River and the Neck River, or in slips over in Clinton and Guilford. Instead of asking you to run the boat somewhere, we bring water, power, and everything else to wherever it actually sits.

Where we work

Marinas, docks, and yards in Madison.

Where Madison boats actually are:

Driveways and side yardsThe bulk of our Madison work. We arrive fully self-contained and need nothing from you.
Private docksAlong the East River, the Neck River, and the tidal creeks behind the beach.
Hammonasset launch and shorelineState park access at the eastern end of town.
Slips in Clinton and GuilfordMany Madison owners keep boats a few minutes either side of the town line. We service those too.

A boat parked at the house has a different maintenance profile from one in a slip. Nothing is growing below the waterline, which saves real money, but it sits under trees and collects pollen and sap in spring and bird droppings that will etch gelcoat if they sit through a hot week. Sap and droppings are the two things we most often correct on Madison boats, and both respond far better to prompt attention than to waiting for haul-out.

The boats that do live on the water here are on shallow tidal rivers behind the beach, which means silt at the waterline rather than heavy salt growth. And anything launched off Hammonasset takes the full open Sound: no harbor, no breakwater, nothing between the boat and the weather. A sealant or coating on a trailered open boat is a better investment here than most owners assume.
