We are not affiliated with Old Lyme Marina. We are an independent mobile detailer that services boats kept there.
Old Lyme Marina sits on the east bank of the Connecticut River, on the quieter, marshier side of the river mouth. Where Old Saybrook opposite is developed and busy, this side is Great Island, the Black Hall River, and a network of tidal creeks.
It offers dockage and yard service in one of the prettier settings on the lower river.
The marshes around Great Island make this some of the most biologically productive water on the Connecticut coast, and productive water grows things on hulls. Combine that with the silt and tannin coming down the river and you get the heaviest, most set-in waterline staining anywhere in our range.
We almost always budget extra time at the waterline on an Old Lyme boat, and we are usually straight with owners that an annual detail is not really enough here. Either a coating or a recurring wash cadence will cost less across a few seasons than repeated correction.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
