Essex Yacht Club sits on Essex Harbor, part of a town with as deep a boating tradition as anywhere in New England. The harbour hosts the annual Mahogany Memories show, which draws an impressive fleet of classic boats.
Access runs through members. We do not approach private clubs directly, so arrange it on your end and let us know what works for the club.
There are more wooden and classic boats in Essex than in any other town we service, and they need a different hand. Varnished brightwork, traditional finishes, and older gelcoat all behave differently from modern production surfaces, and aggressive compounding is the wrong answer on most of them.
We are straightforward about the limits of what we do. On a classic, some of the work belongs with a finish carpenter or a yard that specialises in traditional coatings, and we would rather point you there than take on something that should be done by someone else.
