We are not affiliated with Sachem's Head Yacht Club. We are an independent mobile detailer that services boats kept there.
Sachem's Head Yacht Club was founded in 1896 on Long Island Sound and runs an active racing fleet, junior sailing, and family programming through the summer. The club provides launch service to vessels in both of the Sachem's Head harbors.
Moorings are managed by a harbor committee drawn equally from the Sachem's Head Association and the yacht club, and space is limited. Access to a moored boat is either by dinghy from the Landing, a personal dock, or club launch service for members.
A moored boat is a genuinely different maintenance problem from a slipped one. It swings with wind and tide and takes a full 360 degrees of sun and salt spray with nothing alongside to shade it. Fading comes on evenly but thoroughly, and there is no dock to break the weather.
Access shapes how we work here. Getting a detailer, equipment, and water out to a mooring is not the same as walking down a dock, so the practical arrangement is usually to bring the boat in to a dock for the work. Talk to us early in the season and we will plan around the club's launch schedule.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
