We are not affiliated with Boardwalk Marina. We are an independent mobile detailer that services boats kept there.
Boardwalk Marina sits on the Housatonic River in Stratford with over 1,000 feet of riverfront dockage and 165 floating slips. It is one of the larger boating communities in Fairfield County and a marina we visit regularly.
The marina is a certified Mercury dealer with factory-trained technicians, and it runs a genuine service operation covering fiberglass repair, electronics, marine air conditioning, and sanitation systems. We stay in our lane: they handle mechanical and structural work, we handle the finish.
Floating slips make our job easier. The boat sits at a constant height relative to the dock regardless of tide, so we can work the hull sides properly without chasing a six or seven foot tidal swing.
The catch here is the river itself. Boats slipped on the Housatonic pick up a brown waterline stain from brackish, tannin-heavy water that is noticeably more stubborn than what we see on boats kept in open salt water. On a Boardwalk boat we usually plan for extra time at the waterline, and we often recommend a sealant or ceramic coating specifically to keep that stain from setting into the gelcoat.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
