Brown's Marina sits on the west bank of the Housatonic in a well-marked channel, offering seasonal slips and winter storage for pleasure cruisers, recreational and commercial fishing boats, and other vessels up to 50 feet. The docks were renovated recently.
It is minutes from Long Island Sound, with the Norwalk Islands to the west and the Thimbles to the east, so the boats kept here tend to actually get used.

A working mix of pleasure and fishing boats means we see a wider range of conditions at Brown's than at a purely recreational marina. Fishing boats bring blood, scale, and bait residue that need proper cleaning rather than a rinse, and non-skid on a fishing deck holds that grime in the texture.
Because Brown's does winter storage on site, it is a convenient place to combine a haul-out detail with shrink wrapping. Getting the hull compounded and sealed before it goes under wrap for the winter is the single best-timed detail of the year.
