We are not affiliated with Safe Harbor Stratford. We are an independent mobile detailer that services boats kept there.
Safe Harbor Stratford, known for years as Brewer Stratford Marina, occupies one of the oldest continuously active boating sites in Connecticut. Shipyards have operated on this ground since the 1700s. Jack Brewer built his marina business here starting in the 1960s before the group expanded across New England.
The marina sits about a mile and a half up the western shore of the Housatonic, which makes it a well-sheltered harbor surrounded by salt marsh. It runs roughly 200 slips with about ten held for visitors.
Being a mile and a half upriver buys real storm protection, but it also means these boats sit further into the brackish zone. Waterline staining here tends to be heavier than at marinas closer to the mouth, and the surrounding salt marsh adds organic material to the mix.
It is a large yard, so if you are one of several owners on the same dock who want work done, tell us. We can schedule a run and get through several boats in a day, which is easier on everyone's calendar than separate trips.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
