Cos Cob Marina is one of four Greenwich town facilities, sitting on River Road just south of the I-95 overpass. It runs approximately 175 slips, the largest of which take vessels up to 28 feet with beams to 8.5 feet, plus a limited amount of year-round rack space and dry winter storage.
Like the other town marinas it operates from April 15 through November 15 on a facility use permit, with verification of Greenwich residency required.
The 28-foot ceiling means these are almost all open or partially open boats, and nothing shades the gelcoat, seating, or non-skid across a full season. Oxidation arrives faster on a boat with no cabin top than owners tend to expect, and on a hull this size a polish and sealant is quick work with a dramatic result.
The seasonal calendar drives scheduling. Boats go in mid-April and come out by mid-November, so the two useful windows are a polish and seal just before launch and a proper wash and wax before haul-out and winter storage. We book Greenwich heavily in late March and early April, so calling ahead of the rush is worth doing.
