Home / Service Areas / Westport
The western edge of our range, centered on the Saugatuck River and the town marinas at Longshore and Compo.
Westport marks the western end of our regular service area, about half an hour from Milford. We make the run regularly, and for larger jobs or several boats at one marina it is well worth the trip.
The town maintains its own marinas and there are waiting lists for in-water and dry stall assignments, so boats here tend to stay put once an owner has a spot. That continuity is good for detailing, because we can build a maintenance rhythm around a boat that lives in the same slip year after year.
Where we work in Westport:
Boats kept toward Compo and the mouth of the Saugatuck sit in more open water than the river yards upstream. More wind means more salt spray drying on the topsides, and salt left to bake in the sun is what dulls a finish fastest.
That exposure is exactly the case where ceramic coating earns its cost. A coated hull sheds salt far more readily and rinses clean with much less effort, which matters when the boat is getting doused on a breezy afternoon several times a week. For uncoated boats out here, a bi-weekly wash plan is usually the honest minimum.
The same packages we run across the shoreline. Restoration and seasonal work is quoted after a look at the boat.
